Lexus LF-A Roadster Concept

Lexus-LF-A-Roadster-

Lexus has revealed a roadster variant of the popular concept car, the LF-A premium sports car concept. This car has a V10 5L engine, powering it with more than 500 hp, and a top speed of more than 200 mph. It has a retractable rear spoiler for improved handling at speed. And, shifting is done via a sequential transmission with paddle shifters. I'm sure this beauty will have a pretty price tag attached it it ever makes it to production, but I wouldn't mind at least taking it for a test drive some day.

Hybrid Race Car?

nissan altima hybrid race car

It may be an oxymoron, but Nissan has designed a hybrid race car: the Nissan Altima Hybrid Race Car. Built by Braille Battery, this Nissan Altima has a whopping 440 hp and can click off 12.9 second quarter mile times. And, it does this while getting a 57% better fuel economy rate over non-hybrid race Altima cars.

It's powered by the stock 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, but the engine has been reworked to run on E85 fuel. Most of its horsepower comes from a Vortech Electric Supercharger. In addition, the Nissan Altima Hybrid Race Car is also eqipped with a full BC Coilover Suspension Kit, Wilwood Brake Kit, a full array of Sparco safety enhancements, APR carbon fiber splitter, VIS Racing Carbon Fiber Hood, Stillen Body Kit and a custom exhaust featuring a "green leaf" exhaust tip.

BMW Introduces Start-Stop System for Select Models

Beginning this spring, BMW will be incorporating its EfficientDynamics systems into the M3, which will come equipped with Auto Start Stop. This system, according to BMW, cuts the engine when the M3 comes to a stop, reducing emissions and fuel consumption by up to 8%.

In addition, BMW will be offering a Competition Package for the M3 coupe (see image above) and sedan in Europe, which includes 19x9-inch wheels, a suspension lowered by 10mm and a revised Sport traction control setting.

A new M Sport package for the X5 will debut at the Geneva Motor Show, alongside the Competition M3. It will feature 19- or 20-inch wheels, wrapped in specially developed tires, a new front fascia with larger air intakes, "sanitized aluminum" window surrounds, M leather steering wheel, footrest and a few interior tweaks.
